Our Speakeasy

What in the world is a speakeasy? We hear this a lot: A speakeasy is a bar or club that was hidden or secretive, particularly during the Prohibition era in the United States (1920-1933), when the sale of alcohol was illegal. These establishments operated outside the law, often requiring a password or secret knock for entry, and offered alcoholic beverages to patrons. Today, the term can also refer to modern bars that emulate the style and atmosphere of these historical venues, but operate legally.

Our Speakeasy aims to set the tone in Bowling Green for this type of experience. Harkening back to the days of old when prohibition loomed large over everyday folks wishing to dress up, let their hair down, and enjoy a great cocktail to the soothing sounds of jazz and blues. A business casual dress code is enforced!

Join us and immerse yourself in the past through art deco decor, live jazz and blues, pre/post prohibition cocktails, a private club cigar lounge, full bar, and a bar bites menu.

The Speakeasy is open Thurs-Sat 5pm-12am with live Jazz/Blues on Friday and Saturday nights. Check Facebook for times and bands who will be playing. We will be posting an event calendar soon!

DRESS CODE

Your presence brings the charm-your style sets the tone. As an upscale speakeasy, The Mustang Club offers a refined experience unlike anything else in town. To match the elegance of our ambiance, we kindly ask that our guests observe a business casual dress code when joining us for the evening.

Think polished and comfortable:

Acceptable Attire for Gentlemen:

– Collared shirts (button-downs, polos)

– Blazers or sport coats (optional, but encouraged)

– Slacks, chinos, or dark, clean jeans

– Dress shoes, loafers, or clean sneakers in good condition

– Non-athletic shorts are acceptable with an appropriate shirt

Acceptable Attire for Ladies:

– Blouses, stylish tops, or elegant sweaters

– Dresses, skirts, slacks, or dressy jumpsuits

– Heeled sandals, flats, boots, or polished sneakers

What to Avoid:

– Athletic wear (sweatpants, gym shorts, leggings)

– Ripped or distressed jeans

– Flip-flops, slides, or dirty sneakers

– T-shirts, tank tops, or overly casual tops

– Ball caps or hoods indoors

You don't have to be formal-but you should be intentional. Whether you're celebrating something special or just enjoying a cocktail in good company, we want your evening to feel as elevated as the experience we've created.

Thank you for helping us keep the vibe just right.
